SHIPS OF THE SEA MARITIME MUSEUM
LOCATED IN THE HISTORIC WILLIAM SCARBROUGH HOUSE AND GARDENS

STEP INTO THE GHOST VOYAGE
An immersive night of light, sound, and story unfolds in the museum gardens as the next chapter of our Celestial Seafarers series.
Inspired by the lore of myth, ghostly legends, and lost voyages, The Ghost Voyage is a journey into the unknown — strange, haunting, and alive with the visions of Savannah’s artists.
It’s an experience where you step into the shadows of the sea and emerge with something unforgettable.
Two nights only — Don't miss it!
HISTORY OF CELESTIAL SEAFARERS

Created to honor Savannah’s maritime legacy, Celestial Seafarers brings the city’s most inventive contemporary artists together in our gardens for nights of light, sound, and performance.
The Ghost Voyage continues this tradition, giving local artists the stage to experiment, collaborate, and shine while connecting their work to the bold history that inspires us all.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where can I park for the event?
Free parking is available in the museum’s private lot on site. If the lot is full, guests can find on-street metered parking nearby on Ann Street, Orange Street, and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. There’s also a pay-to-park lot between Zubly Street and Orange Street, as well as a parking garage on MLK within walking distance of the museum.
What time should I arrive?
Doors open at 6:30 PM sharp, and the event begins shortly after. We recommend arriving a little early to allow time for parking and walking to the museum if our lot is full. Early arrival ensures you can enter smoothly and enjoy a full The Ghost Voyage experience from start to finish.
Is this event family-friendly?
Yes! The Ghost Voyage is open to all ages. While the experience is designed with adults in mind, families are welcome to attend together. A cash bar will be available, so attendance is at the discretion of parents or guardians.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes! Our gardens are pet-friendly, and well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome to join you outdoors during The Ghost Voyage. Inside the museum, however, only service animals are permitted.
Is this event wheelchair accessible?
Yes. We strive to make the Museum and gardens as accessible as possible. The gardens are fully wheelchair accessible, including a ramp that leads to the Assembly Room, where accessible restrooms are available. The parking lot includes curb cuts and four accessible parking spaces near the entrance. Visitors who wish to explore the museum’s main floor may use the wheelchair lift, located under the south porch and accessible via the Scarbrough Garden (weight capacity: 800 lbs). Please note that the second floor and basement are only accessible by stairs, but much of the event takes place in the gardens and Assembly Room.
Will there be food or drinks available?
Our bar will be available during the event, accepting credit cards, and Apple Pay. While no food will be served, guests are welcome to enjoy drinks as they explore the gardens and installations throughout the evening.
How long does the experience take?
Most guests spend about 45 minutes to an hour exploring The Ghost Voyage. If you’d like to visit the museum as well, we recommend allowing at least an hour and a half to fully enjoy both The Ghost Voyage experience and the museum.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No printed ticket is required. Guests will receive a confirmation email with a scannable code that can be shown on a phone upon arrival. If you don’t have the email handy, staff can easily look up your reservation by the name used at checkout. Walk-up tickets will also be available for purchase at the door, as space allows.
Is photography allowed?
Yes! Photography is encouraged both inside the museum and throughout the gardens. Flash photography is permitted, but please be courteous to other guests—avoid using flash directly toward people, as the outdoor areas will be dimly lit during the event.
Will my photo be taken?
During The Ghost Voyage, museum staff and approved photographers may capture event photos and short video clips for promotional use. By attending, guests grant permission to appear in this content, which may be shared on Ships of the Sea’s website or social media.
What if it rains?
We’ll be closely monitoring the weather in the days leading up to Ghost Voyage and will make adjustments if conditions require. Once the event is open and operating, all sales are final and tickets are non-refundable.
What types of Payments are Accepted?
At the entrance gate and bar, we will be accepting credit & debit cards as well as Apple Pay. We will not be accepting cash.
Do I have to come right at 6:30?
You can come anytime between 6:30-9:30pm, although we suggest at least an hour to enjoy the show and museum.
