The coolest family event of the summer is back!
Splash on the High Seas is back for another unforgettable day of summer fun at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum! In partnership with Safe Kids Savannah, this free family event brings together water games, hands-on crafts, sidewalk chalk, outdoor activities, and interactive safety stations.
Families can learn about boating safety, life jackets, emergency preparedness, and smart ways to stay safe around water and in the sun, all while making summer memories together.
During the event, guests can also enjoy free admission to the museum, explore our 200 year old mansion, discover Savannah’s maritime history, and stroll through Historic Savannah’s largest private gardens.
Bring the whole crew and spend the day splashing, learning, exploring, and celebrating summer at Ships of the Sea!

Drawn to the Sea: Maritime Stories from Savannah
Explore maritime history through the bold, imaginative world of illustration and comics in Drawn to the Sea: Maritime Stories from Savannah. Featuring work by Sharon Norwood, Richard King, Lucy Bellwood, and Avery Hick, this exhibition brings the stories of ships, sailors, and Savannah’s coastal past to life in a fresh visual way.

Safe Kids Savannah - Memorial Children's Hospital
Safe Kids Savannah is led by The Children’s Hospital at Memorial Health and works to prevent childhood injuries through education and community outreach. Their programs—like car seat checks and safety workshops—help families stay informed and empowered.
For Splash on the High Seas, Safe Kids Savannah is leading the fun with engaging activities focused on sun and water safety, including an educational table on the importance of lifejacket use and key tips for safe boating.

King of Pops has become a Family Day favorite at Ships of the Sea, joining us for almost every celebration and bringing sunshine, smiles, and refreshing treats to families in the gardens. At this point, we can hardly imagine a Family Day without them!
For Splash on the High Seas, the Savannah franchise, led by Josie Ramirez, will be serving up their colorful pops made with simple, wholesome ingredients. Whether you love bold flavors or fruity classics, there’s a pop for everyone, just look for the rainbow umbrella!
