King of Pops
King of Pops has become a Family Day favorite at Ships of the Sea, bringing smiles and refreshing treats to nearly every celebration!
Led by Josie Ramirez, the Savannah team will be serving up their colorful pops made with simple, wholesome ingredients, available for purchase during the event. Just look for the rainbow umbrella!
Frequently Asked Questions
Is admission free during Making Waves Family Day?
Yes! Admission is free from 1 – 4pm during the event and includes access to the museum. We’re also extending free museum admission for one extra hour, from 4 – 5pm. Regular admission applies from 10am – 1pm.
Will refreshments be available?
Yes! We’ll have water available for guests, and King of Pops will be selling popsicles during the event. Popsicles are available for purchase separately.
Is there parking available?
Yes! We have a large on-site parking lot available for event guests. If our lot fills up, additional paid street parking is available along MLK Jr. Blvd., Orange St., and Ann St. There is also a private paid lot directly across the street.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Making Waves will take place rain or shine! Most activities will be held inside the museum, so the event will continue even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Do I need to RSVP?
No RSVP is required, but we’d love to know you’re coming! Mark yourself as Going on our Facebook event to help us plan for the day, and feel free to invite friends and family to join you.
Is Ships of the Sea accessible?
Yes. We have four accessible parking spaces, and our gardens are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair lift provides access from the garden level to the museum’s main floor. Please note that the basement and second floor are accessible by stairs only.
