About Trae Gurley & His Merry Men

Trae Gurley is one of Savannah’s standout vocalists, known for his smooth, Sinatra-inspired sound and more than three decades of musical experience. A musician first, Trae began with saxophone and guitar before discovering his passion for vocal performance and the timeless elegance of the Great American Songbook.

His career has taken him to notable venues and events across the country, including performances for MoMA, SCAD, Gulfstream, Rolls-Royce, and the Hotel del Coronado. In Savannah, he’s a familiar favorite at annual Johnny Mercer tributes and cabaret performances at the Historic Lucas Theatre.

For A Very Maritime Holiday, Trae joins acclaimed local musician Jared Hall as the leaders of “the Merry Men,” bringing a festive blend of jazz standards and holiday classics to the Scarbrough House.

We welcome back Santa Eddie

Santa Eddie is a beloved member of the Ships of the Sea community — and if you recognize him, it may be from his appearance in our exhibition Sea of Ink: Savannah Maritime Tattoos, where he proudly shared his two maritime-inspired tattoos. Last holiday season, he helped light up our Ships in the Dark celebration, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back for A Very Maritime Holiday.

After retiring to Savannah from upstate New York, Santa Eddie fully embraced his role in the community. What began as a simple resemblance to Santa quickly became a joyful calling. Known for his real beard, warm spirit, and genuine enthusiasm, he brings holiday magic to families, events, and even enthusiastic pets.

From cheerful greetings and photo moments to heartfelt conversations with little ones, Santa Eddie creates memories that last long beyond the season. We’re honored to have him spreading joy once again at the Scarbrough House.
