SUPPER AT SEA -
IVY LAUREL ANDERSON
Artist Biography

Ivy Laurel Anderson (b. 2000) is a fiber artist and sculptor based in Savannah, Georgia. She holds an MFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a BA in Fashion Design from Indiana University. With the knitting machine as her primary tool, Anderson distorts objects and space using textiles as a structural medium. Her ongoing series of Somethings abstracts discarded objects through knitted textile membranes, engaging themes of transformation, perception, and absurdity.
Anderson has held multiple artist residencies, including the SCAD Alumni Atelier, and with the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum and her work has been exhibited nationally in both solo and group exhibitions. Her practice is informed by global research, from Japan to Italy, and her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including honors from the International Design Awards, Surface Design Association, Red Dot Design Awards, and the Artist Seed Grant from ArtPrize.

Ivy's 2025 Masterpieces
These works consider the heartbeat of the ocean and the bravery of the souls who venture out into her.
Water sloshes as the great marble turns
little wooden island I wish you well
Sediment of ecosystems
boiled, steeped, and frothed
Deep monstrous hum
She is the ocean
in the eye of the whale
I see her float

SHE IS THE OCEAN

IN THE EYE OF THE WHALE

I SEE HER FLOAT
